Tyler Nimon is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, teacher, and world traveler.

Born in Chicago’s south suburbs, Tyler began playing guitar at the age of seven. By thirteen, he was writing and recording original music with his friend and collaborator Roland Lim III under the name Red Lemon. After relocating to Northwest Indiana, Tyler formed several bands and continued to write, record, and perform original music throughout the Chicagoland area.

Ultimately, Tyler left the US and began traveling around Europe, sharing his music with whoever would listen. He ventured through North Wales and walked El Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage in northern Spain. Eventually, he returned to the US and decided to dedicate himself to music until a hand injury forced him into a hiatus.

After recovering from his injury, Tyler set forth on a prolonged journey throughout Asia, during which he taught music at an international school in Thailand, worked at a guesthouse in Malaysia, and taught English at a language center in Japan where he would meet his future wife, Erica, a classical pianist and Suzuki Method teacher.

While living in Kobe, Japan, COVID-19 came. Though a devastating and tumultuous pandemic, it afforded Tyler the time and space to return to recording music. His good friend, Jimmy MacGillivray, owned a rehearsal space in downtown Kobe called Rudiez Studios which the two of them converted into a recording studio.

Over the next two years, Tyler flourished recording his own music as well as producing and writing songs for various Japanese and American artists. Separated by the Pacific Ocean and a fourteen-hour time difference, Tyler and Roland collaborated remotely, perpetuating their nearly twenty-one years of musical friendship.

Twenty countries and hundreds of songs later, Tyler still continues to write, record, and perform music. He is thrilled to share his latest original music with the world and invites you to join the adventure!
